Welcome to my latest app that is taking advantage of my passion for language learning and that will grow and adapt over time.
Under the hood
lingoPT's web app is built with Next.js 16, React 19, Tailwind CSS and shadcn/ui. Behind it sits an ASP.NET Core API on .NET 10, which stores your progress in PostgreSQL. Multiple different LLMs models write the exercises, mark your answers and read the sentences aloud. Clerk handles sign-in, and the API runs on Railway.
lingoPT: Your AI Personal Trainer for Languages
Learning a language takes regular practice, and lingoPT gives you a coach for every session. Pick Spanish (Latin American or European), French, Italian or Portuguese (Brazilian or European), set your level from A1 to B2 and choose the topics you care about. Every exercise is then written for you on the spot, and you get a score out of 100 with a clear explanation straight away. Anything you get wrong comes back in a later session until you've got it right.

Four ways to train
Sentence Translate
You get an English sentence built around one grammar or vocabulary point and write it in your target language. If you're stuck on a word, tap it for a hint. When you submit, you get a score, the corrected sentence (which you can listen to) and an explanation of what to change.
Sentence Dictate
Listen to a sentence read aloud by a natural-sounding voice and type what you hear. Replay it as often as you need. lingoPT then marks your spelling and accents and shows you the English meaning.
Comprehension
Read a short five-sentence story on one of your topics and translate it into English one sentence at a time. lingoPT marks you on whether you got the meaning, not whether you matched one exact wording.
Conversation
Chat with a friendly AI partner in your target language for up to ten replies. After each reply you get a score and corrections, plus a more natural way to say it where there is one, before the conversation moves on.
